White Water Mould Treatment Plan

WARNING: DO NOT USE THE SPA FOR THE DURATION OF TREATMENT!!

Any stainless-steel components could be susceptible to corrosion during this treatment.

Day 1-5:

STEP 1:

  1. Ensure spa is full of water. Heat water to warm temperature
  2. Remove Headrests, Filter Housing Face (to avoid chemical damage)
  3. Add 1kg of Spa Chlor (Chlorine)
  4. Leave Spa Cover off, Run Jets for 1 HOUR (3-4 cycles of jets running)
  5. Leave Cover off as much as possible during the treatment

STEP 2:

  1. Let spa run as normal (heated) for 5 DAYS
  2. EVERYDAY run Jets for 1 cycle (15 mins) with cover off

STEP 3:

  1. On DAY 5 Dump Water down Sewer Line
  2. Wipe the whole spa interior and inside of cover with Methylated Spirits on a rag

Note: this water is very toxic and MUST be drained to your wastewater system

Day 6-10: Repeat process above with no filters

STEP 1:

  1. Fill spa with fresh water. Heat to warm temperature
  2. Remove Filters from spa (leave out in sun for a day). Leave out of spa for next 5 days.
  3. Repeat STEP 1-3 above for next 5 DAYS
  4. Dump Water down Sewer Line on DAY 10
  5. Wipe the whole spa interior and inside of cover with Meths on a rag
  6. Wipe down all headrests & filter housing fascia with Meths

Note: this water is very toxic and MUST be drained to your wastewater system

 

DAY 11: REFILL YOUR SPA WITH FRESH WATER

Now you’re ready to fill your spa again, balance your chemicals and use your spa normally.

  1. Return your Filters, Headrests, Filter housing fascia back into spa
  2. Fill spa with fresh water = Add Hardner, balance Alkalinity & PH & add 2 Teaspoons of Spa Chlor to warm water (as per normal chemical start-up instructions)

TIP: Run your garden hose for 5 minutes on the lawn before you fill your spa to avoid contaminating your spa with bacteria that may be present in hose
